Wherein I Prove That I Know Songs From This Decade

Oh, hey there — it’s been awhile!  We’re awakening from our little nap over here and we’re ready to get back to pop culture.  But, like most things you’ve taken a long break from, we’ve got to ease back into things slowly.

I’m pretty sure we’ve talked about my lack of music savvy before, and I was at a wedding last weekend when the Black Eyed Peas’ song, “Let’s Get it Started” came on.  Naturally, I freaked out, because that song is all kinds of awesome.  Too bad I was the only person there who thought that — apparently nobody likes that song anymore?  Because it’s old?  I don’t know.  My friends have had a good go of it on Twitter the past week giving me all kinds of shit over my cluelessness when it comes to current music.

So to get us back into the swing of things — and prove to you that I’m really the last person who should have been helming that wayward ship known as Music Tuesdays — here’s the current playlist on my iPod, complete with the year the album the song is on was released.  For extra fun — for songs that came out before 2010, I starred the ones I only discovered/started listening to in the past year (and in most cases, the past 6 months).
