Pop Culture Throwdown: AFC vs. NFC

It's Only Bullets Pop Culture Throwdown

The top hit for “AFC” on Google is the “Asian Football Confederation”.  The top hit for “NFC” on Google is “Near Field Communication”.

Alas, neither of those two is a participant in this week’s throwdown.

With the settling of the long drawn out, will-they-or-won’t-they circus between the NFL and NFLPA, there has been a frenzy of (American) football activity of late.  If you follow any of the talking heads or watch any of them, they’ve been practically giddy talking about FOOTBALL FOOTBALL FOOTBALL.

With a lot of big questions answered last week – Where will Kevin Kolb go?  Where will Nnamdi Asomugha land?  Will Tom Brady cut his hair (it looks like he did)?  What will happen to Carson Palmer? – and loads of others that followed – When did the Eagles get all crafty (hello, they’re EAGLES!)?  Should we even have a season, since everyone assumes the Eagles will win?  Oh wait, we should, because the Pats are also early favorites despite not having won a Super Bowl since the 2004 season? – it’s been a busy time.

With football just eight days away, we’re celebrating with a three-round set of pop culture throwdowns.  We’ll start with the conferences.

No cute choices this week, but the criteria is still your own.
