Watch to Watch: Three Nights in Middle Earth

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

If you find yourself with about 12 hours of free time, spread out over three consecutive Tuesdays, consider checking out every (true) geek’s dream: the return of The Lord of the Rings motion picture trilogy to local cinemas.  Whether you’re a diehard or casual fan or simply missed them in the theatre the first time around, this is your chance to see all three films in their big screen glory.  (I just about peed my pants when I heard about it.)

Starting June 14, Fathom Events together with Warner Brothers, will be presenting the complete Lord of the Rings trilogy in select theatres around the country (note: theatres will be showing the extended editions, not the theatrical releases).  The Fellowship of the Ring screens on June 14, The Two Towers screens June 21, and The Return of the King screens June 28.

As for the timing, my guess is that this is part of a promotional schedule leading up to the June 28 release of the LOTR Extended Editions on Blu-Ray.
