While the announcement of the cancellation of FX’s “Lights Out” came several weeks ago, the series aired its final episode last Tuesday night. While shows get cancelled all of the time on television for a variety of reasons, it’s not often that we get to hear the thoughts of the person in charge of the show on why it was cancelled.
One of my favorite tv critics, Alan Sepinwall, posted a short interview with “Lights Out” showrunner Warren Leight where he asked for Leight’s thoughts on the show’s demise. It helps illuminate the thought process that goes on in the Hollywood circles on why viewers reject shows. Agree or disagree with the reasoning, its a worthy piece to take a look at.
